Becoming a Woman of Virtue

Becoming a Woman of Virtue

By Nancy Leigh DeMoss
“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands” (Prov. 14:1).
1. Am I building up my house or tearing it down?
2. Am I investing in my marriage? Am I nurturing the heart of my marriage?
3. Do I frequently express admiration and gratitude to my husband?
4. Am I reserving the best of my physical and emotional energy for my family?
5. Am I creating a climate (through words, actions, and attitudes) that makes my husband want to be at home?
6. Am I content to be “at home”? Am I finding my “fulfillment” through reverencing and serving my husband and family?
7. Do I reserve intimate communication, looks, words, and touch for my husband? Am I giving of my emotions, attention, affection to a man other than my husband?
8. Am I meeting my husband’s sexual needs?
9. Am I trustworthy? Is there any behavior or relationship I am involved in that I am keeping from my husband? Have I been totally honest with my husband?
10. Does my husband have the freedom to be totally honest with me?
11. Am I fueling sensual thoughts and desires through books, magazines, TV programs, music, or movies that are not morally pure?
12. Have I become a “refuge” for a man who may be struggling in his marriage?
13. Am I looking to a man other than my husband (pastor, counselor, colleague) to be a primary source of counsel or to fill an emotional vacuum in my life?
14. Do I have a more intimate relationship—physically, emotionally, or spiritually—with any man than I do with my husband?
15. Does my demeanor tend to be “loud and defiant,” or do I communicate a meek, quiet, and submissive spirit?
16. Am I a “wall” or a “door” (Song of Songs 8:12)? Am I a “loose” woman? Do I communicate to the men around me that I am “available”? Does my demeanor invite them to “partake” of intimate parts of my body, soul, or spirit? Do I engage in flirtatious speech, looks, or behavior?
17. Is there anything about my speech, actions, dress, or attitudes that could defraud the men around me?
18. Am I discreet and restrained in the way I talk with men at work? Is my conversation ever loose, crude, or unbecoming for a woman of God? Am I expressing admiration for a man that should more appropriately come from his wife?
19. Does my dress help men to keep their thoughts pure and Christ-centered? Is my dress feminine and modest?
20. Have I erected (and am I maintaining) adequate “hedges” in my relationships with men? What are those hedges?
21. Am I currently in a situation that is (or could become) compromising? Am I in a situation that could appear to others to be compromising?
22. Would my husband, as well as other men and women who know me, say that I am a woman of moral virtue and purity?
23. Have I purposed in my heart to be morally pure? Am I making myself accountable to my husband and to another godly woman for my walk with God and others?
“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies” (Prov. 31:10).

I Am There

God never ceases to amaze me... I was out and about the other day and happen to walk in this place of business where this lady behind the counter and I started to chat a little. We started to converse and somehow the Holy Spirit led me to talk to her about my testimony on how God bought me out of an abusive relationship and how He blessed me with my God-loving husband. During that time that I was speaking there was an elderly woman that can from the back and just stopped to hear my testimony. After I finished testifying how good God has been to me she came up to me and handed me this book and turned to this page and said to me, "Sweetheart, read this. This is what was happening to you." When I read it I could not believe it but God started to speak to me. I want to share what she gave me:

I AM THERE

by: James Dillet Freeman

(Daily Word)

Do you need Me?

I am there.

You cannot see Me, yet I am the light you see by.

You cannot hear Me, yet I speak through your voice.

You cannot feel Me, yet I am the power at work in your hands.

I am at work, though you do not understand my ways.

I am at work, though you do not recognize my works.

I am not strange visions. I am not mysteries.

Only in absolute stillness, beyond self, can you know Me as I am, and then but as a feeling and a faith.

Yet I am here. Yet I hear. Yet I answer.

When you need me, I am there.

Even if you deny Me, I am there.

Even when you feel most alone, I am there.

Even in your fears, I am there.

Even in your pain, I am there.

I am there when you pray and when you do not pray.

I am in you, and you are in Me.

Only in your mind can you feel separate from Me, for only in your mind are the mists of "yours" and "mine".

Yet only with your mind can you know Me and experience Me.

Empty your heart with empty fears.

When you get yourself out of the way, I am there.

You can of yourself do nothing, but I can do all.

And I am in all.

Though you may not see the good, good is there, for I am there.

I am there because I have to be, because I AM.

Only in Me does the world have meaning; only out of Me does the world take form; only because of Me does the world go forward.

I am the law on which the movement of the stars and the growth of living cells are founded.

I am the love that is the law's filling. I am assurance.

I am peace. I am oneness. I am the law that you can live by. I am the love that you can cling to. I am your assurance. I am your peace. I am one with you. I AM.

Though you fail to find Me, I do not fail you.

Though your faith in Me is unsure, My faith in you never wavers, because I know you, because I love you.

Beloved, I am there.

I wanted to share this with you because this helped me in more ways than one. Not only was this a Word from God from what I have gone through, but He also spoke to me for where I am now. In season and out of season. Praise God for loving me enough to send me to a place where I thought I was going for one thing, but yet He had another purpose! Glory to God!!! I pray that this was a blessing to you as it has been for me, print it out, copy it in your journal etc. Whatever you have to do as a reminder that God is there.

Blessings,

MISTY

Ways To Reduce Stress

WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS...An Angel says, "Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice."

1. Pray

2. Go to bed on time.

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.

6. Simplify and unclutter your life.

7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.

10. Take one day at a time.

11. Separate worries from concerns . If a situationis a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.

12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet,an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.

14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.

15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.

17. Get enough rest.

18. Eat right.

19 Get organized so everything has its place.

20.Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.

21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.

22. Every day, find time to be alone.

23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.

24. Make friends with Godly people.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.

26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you Jesus ."

27. Laugh. "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Proverbs 17:22

28. Laugh some more!

29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.

30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

32. Sit on your ego.

33 Talk less; listen more.

34. Slow down.

35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

36 . Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.

"If God is for us, who can be against us?"(Romans 8:31)

God Bless,

Misty

How did you score? If you had more No's than Yes's... Congratulations! You are doing great, but, if you have more Yes's than No's then here are a few things you can do for yourself to help you relax at home:

First, play a spa cd or any other relaxing music and turn out any lights.

Next, close your eyes to reduce the stimuli coming into your brain.

Be sure you are sitting up straight to keep your spinal column aligned but RELAX.

Next drop your shoulders and begin to unwind.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and hold it for 5 seconds.

Next COMPLETELY exhale through your mouth.

With each breath feel your abdomen and your chest completely FILL UP with oxygen.

Put one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen to feel them rise and fall with each deep breath you take.

Now each time you exhale through your mouth I want you to relax a different muscle group starting with the top of your head and working through each muscle group until you reach the tips of your toes.

Okay eyes closed, shoulders dropped, back straight but relaxed, NOW take a deep breath in through your nose hold it for 5 seconds and EXHALE COMPLETELY through your mouth RELAXING your head, your eyes, your cheeks, your tongue, your neck your jawline line …muscles you don’t think of. (Meditate on your favorite scripture)

Now next breathe in through your nose, hold it for 5, now exhale and relax your shoulders, your chest, your upper arms,

Now work your way down your entire body relaxing a new muscle group with each exhale.

Repeat it again from the begining...

Ladies, all you need is 15 minutes a day to do this, get off to yourself and relax, relate, and release...God Bless!

Why Serenity Blessings?

Isaiah 40:31 (New King James Version) "But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."

Serenity Blessings...A Healing Hearts ministry was chosen by God a few years ago, while I was sitting in my bed on my laptop typing. The Holy Spirit revealed to me that He was going to use me in women's ministry that dealt with the restoration of hearts of abused women. Being that I am a survivor of domestic violence and depression, God felt that He could use me in that area.

This blog is to not only to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through me to help heal the broken and wounded hearts of women, but also to allow Him to minister through me to bring awareness as how we as women of God are suppose to be in the body of Christ. How to become a Virtous Woman (Proverbs 31:10-31), Walk in the Fruit of the Spirit (Galations 5:22), A Woman of Titus 2 (Titus 2:2-3) are some of the studies that will be mentioned on this blog.

I am 31 years old, married to my God-given soulmate, Andre' and am a stay at home wife and mother to six children, Nerissa, Joshua, Taylom, Terry, Treylin, and A'mya. Yes, we have been fruitful and multiplied...our "quiver is full"...LOL We give God all the glory and honor for blessing us with such beautiful children. God has also blessed me with ministry in worship dance where He uses me to dance for His glory and restore His purpose for dance. God created dance for His purpose and His purpose only. The world (enemy) has given a distorted view about dance because society has secularized it! (I will discuss this in detail later on down the road.)

Another area we will deal with is how to create a relaxing environment from the comfort of your own home in the aspect of a in home spa experience, stress management techniques, and self care through the Word of God.

I pray that you will be blessed while visiting my blog. Thanks you for visiting! May GOD Bless You in Every Area of Your Life!

As for me and my blog, we will serve the Lord!!!
